Texas A&M Presidential Search Enters Second Year While Aggie Dean is a Finalist at Florida State

September 9, 2014 by Archive

It’s been a year since a search committee was formed to select the next president of Texas A&M University.

At Monday’s faculty senate meeting, speaker Jim Woolsey says the A&M system has hired a second search firm to join the original company.

Woolsey says applications will continue to be taken until the end of the year, then “some decisions” that weren’t identified will be made in January and February of 2015.

Senators also heard a current A&M dean is among 11 finalists for the presidency of Florida State University. According to Florida State’s website, Dr. Kate Miller was scheduled to be on the Tallahassee campus Monday. She is currently A&M’s Dean of the College of Geology and Geosciences.

Tuesday evening update:

Dr. Miller was not named among the four finalists by the Florida State search committee.
