Five new cases of COVID-19 confirmed Tuesday, and another seven on Wednesday, have put Grimes County north of 100 total cases since the pandemic began.
According to the press release yesterday, one of the patients is a female in her 30s, who is not hospitalized and exposed via community spread. She resides in the 77830 zip code. Two of the new patients are males, both in their 20s, with one hospitalized and one not. One’s exposure was not travel related, and the others is unknown. Both reside in the 77831 zip code.
The other four cases yesterday, plus five others today, were confirmed to be TDCJ male offenders, who are not hospitalized.

The release said as well that the breakdown in Grimes County is 112 total cases, with 75 of those being at the Pack Unit. There are 98 active cases, 13 reported recoveries, and one death, as of May 26th.
428 tests have been conducted in Grimes County, not including the TDCJ testing.
Officials continue urging citizen’s to maintain social distancing and avoid large gatherings.
