15 new cases added in weekly Grimes County COVID-19 update

The weekly COVID-19 update for Grimes County shows an increase of 15 cases from last week.

According to the release on Tuesday, the county has had 523 cases total since March 2020. Of those, 103 are currently active, which is up 15 total from 88 last week. 58 of those 103 active cases are in Navasota.

There was another increase in recoveries, though slight, as it went up 17 from last week, now sitting at 421 recovered, of which 205 are in Navasota.

The running death total sits unchanged at 10 since March 2020.

5, 195 test have been performed in the county thus far.

For the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, their dashboard says there has been quite an improvement in active cases at the Pack Unit. They have gone from 17 last week to just 4 active cases this week. One of them is an offender, and three are employees.

At the Luther Unit, they dropped 3 cases, to now have 12 active. Of those, 2 are offenders and 10 of them employees.
