The latest COVID-19 update for Grimes County shows a little positive news, no pun intended.
According to the release, the county has had 420 total cases since the pandemic began, which is an addition of 20 new cases from last week. Active cases dropped off a bit too, as the county now has 164 active cases, with 81 of those in Navasota. This is compared to last week’s release, which stated there were 229 active cases.
More recovery news continues coming in, with the county having seen a total of 255 recoveries, with 111 recoveries in Navasota. No deaths were stated in this release.
Thus far, 4,074 tested have been performed, not including the free testing this week, going on through August 12th.
No new Texas Department of Criminal Justice numbers were in the release, but their dashboard says there are currently 34 active cases at the Pack Unit. 20 of those are offenders, and 14 of them employees. For the Luther Unit, there are 15 current active cases, 7 of them offenders, 8 of them employees.
