A Dairy Queen franchise owner has closed 25 locations in Texas and put items up for auction online.
According to USA Today, “These closures are an isolated event. It was this franchise owner’s decision to participate in an online auction.”
Even with the closures, Texas continues to lead the country with about 560 DQ restaurants.
The complete contents of 24 of the restaurants were posted on an auction website which included items such as grills, chairs, walk-in freezers, and even Blizzard ice cream machines.
The requirement for bidders is that the DQ signage must be removed, and they must bring their own tools and help for item removal.
Not to worry, our Navasota Dairy Queen will remain open.
Some of the closed locations may still appear on Dairy Queen’s online store locator.
