An Anderson man’s car auction was shut down late last month as he and two others were arrested by members of the Grimes and Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force.
The Task Force’s Lt. Joe Sclider says 54-year old Leslie Shipman’s been on their radar for some time now. He, along with 79-year old Jerry Williams of Houston and 62-year old Madisonville resident Israel Curtis were taken into custody.
And while selling vehicles without a license is only a Misdemeanor, the Lt. tells Navasota News why the trio is also facing charges of engaging in organized criminal activity which is a 2nd degree felony that could land each behind bars for up to a decade, with a $10,000 fine.
The trio was booked into and subsequently bonded out of the Grimes County Jail. We’ll have more for you on this case as it develops, right here on Navasota News.
