38 new cases added in weekly Grimes County COVID-19 update

Grimes County sees a small spike in COVID-19 cases in the weekly update.

According to the most recent numbers, the county has seen an increase of 38 cases from last week, one of the larger spike in recent weeks. In total the county has seen 721 COVID-19 cases since March 2020.

Active cases continue to rise as well, with 90 cases currently active in the county, an increase of 15 from last week.

In recoveries, 613 total in the county have recovered, which is up 23 from last week’s update. of those, 309 have been in Navasota.

The running death total remained the same, which sits at 19 since March.

In all, there have been 10,573 tests performed in the county.

For the Texas Department f Criminal Justice, the two units in the county remain on their dashboard for having active cases. At the Pack Unit, according tot he TDCJ dashboard, there are currently 3 active cases, one of them an offender, and two employees. At the Luther Unit, there are 4 active cases, with all four of them being offenders.
