42nd case of COVID-19 in Grimes County confirmed on Tuesday

Another new positive COVID-19 case in Grimes County, confirmed on Tuesday afternoon, has brought the total now to 42 overall.

The newest, 42nd patient is a female in her 30s, hospitalization and exposure unknown, who resides in the Navasota city limits.

There was more of an update on recoveries in this release, as it was stated that there are 10 reported recoveries, and 31 active cases.

Of the 42 cases in the county, 13 of them have been attributed to the Wallace Pack Unit. As of Tuesday, Grimes County has only had one COVID-19 related death, an inmate at the Pack Unit.

No further information was released. County officials urge citizen’s to continue following social distancing guidelines and avoid large gatherings. Below is an updates map of COVID-19 case zip code locations.
