Another week, another increase in COVID-19 cases in Grimes County.
In the latest update, released on Monday afternoon, the county saw another large jump in total cases. Grimes County now has had 290 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, which is up 117 from last week.
Active cases in Navasota are at 135, which are up from 103 last week. In total, the release says there are 239 active cases in the county.
Still no news in the way of recoveries, as the number sits at 33 recovered and 18 lost to follow up for the third consecutive week.
In all, 3,145 tests have been conducted in the county.
Once again, there were no new updates from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in the release. However, most recent update on their website says there are 87 total active cases at the Pack Unit, which remains on knockdown. At the Luther Unit near the southern line of the county, the TDCJ dashboard says there are 7 active cases, all employees, and that facility is no longer on lockdown.
