68 new COVID-19 cases in the Grimes County weekly update push total cases since March over 800

Another increase in positive COVID-19 cases in the weekly update sends Grimes County over 800 total since the pandemic began.

According to the release sent on Monday, the county saw an addition of 68 cases, putting the total number since March at 815.

Active cases also saw a spike, jumping up 47, for 138 cases currently active in the county. Of those, 77 active cases are in Navasota.

There were 19 new recoveries added to this weeks update, putting the total at 657 recovered.

One new death was added to the running tally since march, which now stands at 22.

In all, there have been 11,710 tests performed in the county.

On the Texas Department of Criminal Justice side, their dashboard says that neither unit in Grimes County has any active cases for the second consecutive week.
