Seven foot long alligator removed from roadway near Lake Conroe

July 8, 2021 by Andre Perrard

Authorities have relocated and secured a 7 foot alligator that almost hit near Lake Conroe.

Deputies were called to Crude Cemetery Road and FM 1097 in Willis Thursday morning, where alligator ran back into the woods. Deputies were called back a short time later for calls of it being spotted in the road, near Lewis Creek Reservoir.

The alligator was nearly hit by a motorcyclist, but uninjured. Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden was called upon to assist, and they subdued the gator.

They loaded the nearly 300 pound reptile into the Game Warden truck, and transported it to the Wildlife Refuge in Anahuac.

No one else was reported hurt during the incident.
