TxDot wants to improve safety along Highway 6 South of Navasota into Waller County. And it sent some staff to the Navasota center earlier this week to tell local residents about its plans, and to find out what they think about them.
TxDot’s Bobby Colwell was one of them. He told Navasota News of plans to build new deceleration and acceleration lanes into the highway, adding residents in the area won’t have to worry about any land issues this time as TxDot has all it needs.
After he took a look, local realtor max brand said he’s happy about the idea, adding with the highway the way they are now, it’s dasngerous if you are coming on or coming off.
Now if you missed Tuesday’s open-house, Colwell says you won’t be able to find these plans online. But he promises that if you give his staff a call, they will be happy to meet with you in person to answer all your questions.
If all goes as is currently planned, he continues, construction should start sometime in 2017, will cost four-point-five million dollars and will take about a year to finish. For more information call 979-778-2165 and ask for Allison Kurts.
