Though this round of rain and storms is firmly behind us, Grimes County’s Emergency Management Coordinator hopes you have a plan ready, just in case the weather turns out to be more severe than you expected.
David Lilly tells Navasota News his office has learned a lot from major storms like hurricanes in the past; like how to react to them, and what to have ready when a big one inevitably does roll our way.
And while Grimes is too far inland to take the brunt of an actual hurricane, he continues, everyone should still be ready for what any major storm can throw our way, including having a few, key things stowed away like a few days worth of food and water, and most of all a plan on what to do.
While Lilly says he’s seen amazing response to blackouts from our local power companies, he goes on to warn that if your power does go out, don’t panic, be patient but ready.
And, Lilly adds that if you need to know more about what you should do during an emergency, you can reach him at 979-204-4592.
