The Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce honored three minority owned local businesses Tuesday at the annual Community Impact Awards luncheon.
This year’s recipients are Jacque’s Toys and Books, Montelongo’s Fine Jewelry, and Celebrity Spa and Salon.
The Community Impact Award program was started in 2003 by the Chamber and the Texas A&M University Office of Procurement Services to recognize Hispanic, African-American, Asian, American-Indian and Women business owners who have demonstrated a significant impact in the community.
To be eligible, businesses must: (1) Be a member of the B/CS Chamber of Commerce, (2) Meet HUB (Historically Underutilized Business) certification requirements of at least 51% minority ownership, and (3) Have been in business for a minimum of five years.
