The Iola ISD bus driver involved in a train accident last month will be taking a back seat for a while. Iola ISD’s Chad Jones tells Navasota News, Hyla Razor-Shivers is still recovering from the crash. But, she still has a job waiting for her return, as a bus monitor.
Jones says, as the school bus routes have been re-drawn giving the district a need for a monitor, rather than another driver, gives Razor-Shivers a good place to recuperate.
Jones reiterates, he has the same concerns as anybody when it comes to the children’s safety but, still acknowledges accidents happen.
As to whether or not Razor-Shivers will ever drive a bus again, Jones says that’s all up in the air but, doesn’t see that happening this school year.
