Grimes County Commissioners took the first step this week to abate taxes on 20 acres in Plantersville to lure a 170-year-old Swiss company to build its new plant there.
Burckhardt Compression’s Brian Stewart told the court his company wants to work with our local schools to train assemblers who’ll start at twenty bucks an hour.
County Judge Ben Leman said he sees Burckhardt as an ideal fit for the county of grimes.
The court also designated commissioners finke and Dobyanski to research options for a strategic plan for the county, and commissioner Walker and judge Leman to research economic development strategies.
Judge Leman said that to him, it all boils down to the timing of the county’s cash flow.
Both the judge and commissioners will be reporting their findings to the court within the next few weeks. And when they to, you’ll hear about it, right here on Navasota News.
