Prior to council’s unanimous vote Monday (02/23), City Manager Brad Stafford said State Senate Bill 343 is bad news both for local governments and its citizens who decided to live in the area.
And Mayor Pro-tem Peter Canney took it a step further, calling out the Texas State Senate for trying to suppress local government.
Also this week, council recognized Navasota Mayor Bert Miller for his recent designation as a Certified Municipal Official, by the Texas Municipal League at it’s annual conference in San Marcos, after his completion of 74 hours of continuing education last year.
