Sweet mortar of mercy! If you live in, or drive through northern Grimes, get ready for a serious re-route, as one of the county’s bridges is about to be shut down until early next year.
Road and Bridge Engineer Bob Cochrane tells Navasota News, local builders Fuqua Construction plan to close off County Road 102 for around 6 months, to give the bridge a much needed upgrade.
If you usually use the bridge, Cochrane advises that now is the time to find your detour. Adding you can still drive from Grimes to Brazos County through fm 39 or highway 21.
Whichever way you take, though, you’ll need to figure it out quickly as the bridge will closes today (07/06). For more information or further assistance in finding another route call 936-873-4436.
