It’s Halloween week in Navasota and the local Police Department is once again planning to join in the festivities by closing off a small pocket of downtown for the annual Treats on the Streets.
Chief Justin Leeth tells Navasota News last year’s event saw more than 2,000 parents and kids come out, and the department is really excited to see how many will show up Thursday, and what they’ll come up with for this year’s costume contest.
Treats on the street officially starts at 6, and the Chief asks that everyone plan to get to downtown early, and line up at the City Hall Holland Street entrance and down the LaSalle.
As for organizations and businesses interested in lending a hand Thursday, up to and including handing out candy, he continues, can you can reserve a space by calling the department’s Marla Gurka, at 936-825-6124.
