The voting booths are closed and the final count is in. And like most other Texas constituencies, Grimes County voters approved all seven of the proposed state constitutional amendments.
And even though less than 13% of the county’s more than 14,000 eligible voters even bothered to turn out, the county’s election administrator says she’s pleased.
Rebecca duff tells Navasota News there’s sure to be more interest next spring, when there’ll be a handful of local positions up for your approval in the primary.
Duff says three commissioners will be up for election because both Precinct 1’s Chad Mallet and Precinct 4’s Gary Husfeld were appointed and will need to be elected if they want to keep their seats, while Precinct 3’s Barbra Walker’s regular term will be up.
Anyone wishing to run for any of these or other positions must sign-up with Duff’s office between November 14th and December 15th.
And you’ll hear about all of them as they do, right here on Navasota News.
