The Navasota Animal Shelter has nearly $6,000 of support, thanks to Miller’s Theatre’s recent “A Night to Paws,” event. And, theater owner Rebecca Marlow says one lucky pup went home to a new family as well.
With around a hundred residents nicely filling up the Theatre, Marlow tells Navasota News she is extremely pleased with both the inaugural event’s turnout, and the more than a few businesses in and around grimes who chipped in as well that included one Anonymous Navasota business.
But even after the event’s backing, it turns out the animal shelter is still in need. Marlow explains the shelter pays full price for all the vet visits it’s various temporary residents need, and recently took in a horse that required some serious medical attention, so even the amount of money raised won’t go very far.
Marlow says if you missed out on A Night To Paws, the shelter’s lone employee, Laure Tolliver, is putting together a list of needed items, just in time for the season of giving.
