Despite the recent weather, an Air Force veteran began walking north from Navasota mid-April, (that’s right, I said walking), continuing his extraordinary 628 mile memorial march in honor of both his comrades-in-arms and all who suffer from post-traumatic stress.
Ken Meyers tells Navasota News, operation red wings was on June 28th (06/28) and he was friends with many of the Navy SEALs who perished that day and just wants to show them some respect.
The veteran will be making this march by twenty-two miles-a-day, and Meyers explains for him it’s an important number; a reminder of how many veterans suffering from PTSD take their lives because of it each day.
Meyers says his journey began in Conroe and will take him as far north as Midlothian. Once there, he’ll be doing an about-face, then continue all the way back south to Crystal Beach.
