Independence Day is coming up Monday, and the city of Navasota is busily getting ready for the 240th celebration of our Nation’s birth.
The Assistant City Manager Shawn Myatt says the City’s Annual Independence Daze party will start off, or more precisely step-off with an east-bound procession through downtown promptly at 10 that morning starting at Prosperity Bank and making its way to the Navasota center. And if you’d like, he smiles, you can join in the march.
Then after the parade, Myatt tells Navasota News the party will kick-off with plenty of food, rock-walls and more at the Navasota Center, including free admission to the city pool.
Myatt says the noon lions club is joining the festivities by giving out free lemonade, snow-cones and hotdogs while they last.
The Independence Daze Celebration begins at 10 Monday morning as the parade steps-off, and continues a half hour later at the Navasota Center, where it will continue until 2 that afternoon. So break out your red, white and blues and stop on by.
