Navasota’s old Blues Alley is singing a different tune today. The once-antique-blues shop’s transition to rock-and-roll, coffee and hot meals is complete; recently opening as the first Classic Rock Coffee Company in the state of Texas.
Shop manager Amanda Lavender says the first morning went really well, with residents and downtowners dropping in to see the new eatery’s digs.
There’s a nice patio out front. And once you enter, Lavender says you are surrounded by walls adorned with posters, paintings, records, and, of course, guitars. There is also a spotlight, highlighting the shop’s name at the rear wall.
Speaking of the rear, for those who miss the classic Blues Alley, building owner Bert Miller has kept the guitar collection and the records right where you remember them.
Miller says he wanted to replace the Filling Station Diner and Cafe after it shut down earlier this year; more especially since it helped local businesses keep shoppers nearby.
Miller and Lavender invite you to come fill your belly any day of the week at the Classic Rock Coffee Company; from 6 in the morning ‘til 8 in the evening Mondays through Thursdays, from 6 to 10 Fridays and Saturdays, and 8 to 6 on Sunday. Stop on by and check it out.
