A licensed family nurse practitioner and her husband recently returned to live in the northern Grimes area where he grew up hunting along the Navasota River with his dad.
It was just such a beautiful land and soil, and he wanted to garden, Elizabeth Ellis says, that that’s how we wound up here. And now that she, too, has also fallen in love with our neck of the woods, she says this is a perfect chance to return to her first love; rural healthcare.
She says she’s going to be putting in a primary care full-family practice clinic right in the center of Bedias. She’s calling it the B-I-S Community Clinic, for Bedias, Iola and Singleton. It’s coming soon to downtown Bedias, right along Highway 90. And because she’s trained in full-family practice care, Ellis tells Navasota News the clinic will be able to handle most of the community’s healthcare needs.
She says the B-I-S Clinic should be able to handle newborn all the way up to the elderly. Not only does she hope to have the B-I-S Community Clinic open by the first of September, but Ellis is also hopeful of having a Class-D pharmacy by then as well, to make obtaining prescriptions easier for the clinic’s clientel.
