It’s official. The Navasota School District will hold a two-proposition bond election this fall. Proposition A authorizes issuing $55,000,000 in bonds to renovate district facilities. Proposition B generates another $6,000,000 over the next nine years by transferring three maintenance notes into debt.
Following the unanimous vote, Board Member Jennifer Ramirez gave credit to the incredible community support that went into the bond’s crafting.
Board President Greg Mock reminded those in attendance that the vote now puts the board in a different, non-advocacy role, where they now must depend on private citizens to be bond advocates.
Then following deliberations behind closed doors, Superintendent Dr. Stu Musick announced new staff members the board had approved: Ms Bethany Herrington, teacher at Navasota Junior High; Ms Tiffany Thomas, teacher at Navasota Junior High; and Mr. Derrick Hadley, dual-contract teacher/coach at Navasota Junior High.
They’ll all begin their tenure at the NISD when classes open for the fall semester bright and early Tuesday morning, September 5th. Sorry kids. Congratulations mom!
