The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office has received all their data for 2018. At the Wednesday meeting of Commissioner’s Court, Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Todd Greene presented the Racial Profiling Report for the year.
And, according to Greene, everything is continuing as normal within the county.
“Based on the numbers, looking at the percentages comparing the race and ethnicity of our stops to those total percentages within the county, we are in line with that,” Greene said. “We also did not receive any complaints this year.”
County Judge Joe Fauth also pointed out an interesting statistic in the report – and made a humorous jab along with it.
“Well, let the record show that for the 1,884 stops, that men were stopped twice as much as women. So, that ‘women driver’ scenario goes right out the window,” Fauth laughingly said.
Greene said the numbers were on par with last year with no significant changes.
