A Navasota woman has been arrested in College Station after making upwards of $3,000 in illicit purchases on her company credit card over a two year span.
According to the probable cause statement from College Station Police, the woman worked at the Hilton Hotel on University Drive. The woman began working at the location in May 2016, upon which she was issued a company credit card and Sam’s Club Card, intended for business only purchases.
The Hilton manager in January found a suspicious purchase and further investigation revealed illicit purchases from March 2017 to January 2019. When the manager questioned the suspect, she admitted to the fraudulent charges and was immediately terminated.
In a March interview with police, the woman said she has made some “poor choices,” by using her card for food, household items and “other things.” The woman could not say exactly how many purchases were made on the card, but confirmed they were all made by her.
The woman faces charges of Misapplication of Fiduciary Property between $2,500 and $30,000, which in Texas is a state jail felony. The woman bonded out of jail after paying the $1,000 bond. The statement did not reveal the identity of the woman.
A chart of the charges totaling $3,000 is located below.
