Some new and improved highway signs are coming to Highway 6 and Navasota will be included in the fixes.
According to a press release from TXDOT, the signs along Highway 6 will be replaced due to fading letters. The start of the project has been pushed back to next week. The work will be done during the night time starting next week, September 30th, in College Station, as the northbound lanes of Highway 6 will be shut down at Rock Prairie to replace three signs there.
On Wednesday and Thursday, October 2nd and 3rd, TXDOT crews will be working on the Highway 6 signs on the North and South side of Navasota. here will be lane closures, but not a full closure of the highway.
The last bit will be done on Friday night, October 4th, at Highway 6 and US 79 in Hearne.
TXDOT encourages motorists to heed warning signs and exercise caution when driving in these zones. Work on the signs will be done from 8 pm until 6 am.
