A Houston area teen has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash near Navasota.
Texas DPS says that the crash happened early Saturday morning about four miles south of Navasota. That is when a driver travelling southbound fell asleep at the wheel, losing control of the vehicle, and hit a tree. The driver died after being rushed to a hospital.
The driver was identified as 17 year old Cole Gordon of Friendswood. He was a senior at Friendswood High School, according to a Friendswood ISD Facebook post.
Investigators said he wasn’t wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
