All four school district in Grimes County have extended their closures.
Anderson-Shiro CISD has announced first Tuesday afternoon that it will remain closed through April 10th, as it monitors the situation. During that time,the district says that online and hard copies of lessons will be distributed to the students. ASCISD says they will monitor the situation and re-evaluate before that April 10th date to see if the closure needs to be extended.
Richards ISD announced Tuesday night that they will also be closed until April 10th, with re-evaluation of the situation coming on April 6th. The district said parents could expect phone calls from their child’s teachers the next few days regarding instructional methods.
Navasota ISD announced on Wednesday morning that it has extended its closure through April 3rd. District officials will meet Wednesday to continue their plan on getting instructional options to students while they are at home. NISD will continue Grab and Go lunches Monday through Friday at Webb and High Point Elementary’s throughout the closure.
Iola ISD announced on Wednesday afternoon that, they too will be closing the district until April 3rd. The district says they will revisit the situation and provide an update next on March 30th.
The closures include all facilities, athletics and extra-curricular activities in all districts.
