Visitation at the Grimes County Jail has been limited for the foreseeable future.
According to a release from the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, Sheriff Don Sowell said that after reviewing the most recent updates with the Governor, Texas Commission on Jail Standards and various medical professionals, they will be suspending visitation with inmates by family and friends until further notice.
The Sheriff did say that they have coordinated with their inmate phone carrier, to allow the inmates two 20 minute free phone calls a week. The Policy also pertains all inmate visitors with law enforcement, clergy, attorney’s, etc. There will be no exceptions.
Once clearance has been given, they will return to normal operations.
