Grimes County has its second confirmed case of COVID-19.
It was confirmed by Grimes County Emergency Management Coordinator David Lilly on Saturday morning. He says that both cases were travel-related and both contracted the virus while traveling outside the county. He also said neither individual made contact with anyone in Grimes County at any point during their return home.
The first case in the county was confirmed last Wednesday. That was identified only as a man in his 50s who is self-isolating at home.
No information has been given on where the two traveled for when they returned to the area. Also, the Texas Department of State Health Services advised that any further information could lead to their identities being revealed, and that any such information should not be released.
As of Sunday afternoon, there are 12 cases in Brazos County and 2 cases in Grimes County. For updates, you can check out the Grimes County Emergency Management Facebook page.
