An aggravated robbery in Washington County on Tuesday night resulted in the arrest of two people wanted in multiple states.
According to authorities, around 11 pm on April 21st, deputies responded to a reported robbery at a convenience store in Chappell Hill. The store clerk said a black male with a handgun robbed the store of cash, and left in a vehicle going west on Highway 290.
After the vehicle description as reported to multiple agencies, the car was seen with two individuals near McDade in Lee County, where a high-speed chase ensued, ending shortly after when the suspects car hit spike strips.
The two were arrested and charged with Evading Arrest in Lee County. Upon arriving at the scene, Washington County Sheriff’s Office Investigators charged the pair with Aggravated Robbery, after authorities found evidence linking them to the burglary in the car.
The driver was identified as 32 year old Aparis Unique Higgs of Round Rock, who had been wanted in Ohio and Pennsylvania for Failure to Appear. The passenger, identified as 19 year old Ricky Caldwell of Round Rock, was wanted in Georgia for Failure to Appear.
They remain in jail on bonds totaling $250,000 each.
