One local EMS team was part of a task force that saved three people off a sinking sailboat during Hurricane Hannah last weekend.
The rescue team from College Station based Texas Task Force One, which is comprised of members of a Washington County EMS team and a task force supervisor, helped get two people in their 80s and one person in their 40s to safety during the storm. One of the people was handicapped.
Authorities arrived after getting a call about boats at the Corpus Christi Marina breaking up and sinking. Due to conditions, which were around 65 mile per hour winds at the time, the Coast Guard called on TX-TF 1 for the rescue.
The three rescued, at last update, were all okay.
