A recent series of vehicle thefts in Navasota has led to the arrest of three suspects.
As first reported by the Navasota Examiner, Navasota Police received first reports of a stolen vehicle on July 13th, in the 1600 block of Neal Street. The victim there stated she loaned her 2018 Nissan Rogue to a family member, who picked up a friend named Crystal Cook.
That vehicle was located several days later in Beaumont. The friend, Cook, was located near the vehicle under the influence, and was arrested by Beaumont PD for public intoxication. At this time, Navasota PD issued a warrant for the 29 year old Krystal Cook of Spring, for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Another vehicle was reported stolen on July 17th, where Navasota PD responded to the 700 block of Radlcliff. There, they met with the victim, who said her friend took her newly purchased vehicle without permission. Later that day, Montgomery County police stopped the car, and arrested 27 year old Landon Moore of Navasota.
The last theft occurred in the 1900 block of Highway 105 east, where a 2014 Ford Focus was stolen. The victim stated she had left the doors unlocked and the keys inside. Video footage showed a man enter the vehicle and drive off.
Days later, Waller County Sheriff’s located that vehicle, and arrested 22 year old Austin Adair of Spring. Navasota PD also issued a warrant for his arrest upon his booking in the Waller County jail.
Navasota PD reminds folks to lock their vehicle, do not leave valuables inside the vehicle, and contact Navasota PD if you see any suspicious activity.
