The Goats that were in Navasota to clean out vegetation in Cedar Creek have done their job, and left town.
City Manager Brad Stafford at last night’s city council meeting said that, according to Terry Carr from Rent-A-Ruminant, their time here was positively received.
“436 people stopped and talked to him while he was here, 359 adults and 77 children. He made comment that he thought some of the nicest people they have ever worked for were here, so it was great to have them here, and they did a good job,” said Stafford.
So, what happens now that their job is done, and the overgrown vegetation is gone?
“[Jose Coronilla] and his crew, starting [Tuesday], are working with some of the missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and they are going to start cleaning the woody material out of the creek,” Stafford said.
He added that they look forward to hiring them again in the future.
