A multi-county high speed chase this weekend ended with the arrest of a Washington County man.
According to Texas DPS, they attempted stopping a vehicle on Highway 6 Saturday for having no license plate on the front of the vehicle. That is when troopers say the man began evading them in his pickup truck.
During the chase, the man pulled over on the side of the highway to let a woman out, then continue on with evading law enforcement.
Troopers added that, during the pursuit, the man turned around several times, and at one point, drove the wrong way down Highway 6, and nearly hit a few vehicles.
That chase finally ended in Waller County, stopping on Highway 290 between FM 359 and Liendo Parkway near Prairie View.
The driver was arrested, and identified as 33 year old Corey Terrell Thomas of Chappell Hill. He was charge with evading arrest, reckless driving, driving with an invalid license, and failure to identify, among others. Thomas also had a warrant out of Washington County.
Thomas remains in the Brazos County jail on bonds totaling $11,000. Thomas is in jail on bonds totaling $11,000.
