The City of Navasota has selected an alcohol vendor for the Texas Birthday Bash for this year.
At Monday night’s council meeting, the city considered proposals from three services, 7D Ranch, Laura’s Bartending Service, and Rail & Raye Restaurant, to provide alcohol during the event coming in March.
City council ultimately decided on going with Laura’s Bartending Service, which, according to Marketing and Communications Coordinator Madison Brooks, would provide Navasota with a healthy cut.
“The City of Navasota will receive 40 percent of the net profit from the alcohol sales. She is also going to provide the VIP sponsorship, drink tokens, beer booths, bar setup, and staff. And, based on 2020 sales, the city will receive $2,745.42,” said Brooks on Monday night.
Laura Gross, from Laura’s Bartending, talked to council about her proposal, saying she has been here before for this same event.
“If there is anything that needs to be changed, or the city would like me to do differently, I am happy to talk about that. I based my bid based on what the past agreement was with the city, which was either $15,000 or a 50 percent net split,” said Gross.
Councilman Josh Fultz supported, and made the first motion, to go with Laura’s bid.
“I know we have seen what you do, and what you have done in the past. To me, it has been great. The service we see during the events seems to be top notch,” Fultz said.
Council, again, approved the bid for Laura’s Bartending to be the alcohol vendor for the 2021 Texas Birthday Bash.
The Texas Birthday Bash is March 5th and 6th of 2021, and more information can be found on texasbirthdaybash.com.
