A Navasota man was arrested in College Station on Tuesday, after speeding on Highway 6 led to deputies discovering numerous drugs in the vehicle.
According to the College Station Police arrest report; they stopped a 2013 Ford Mustang on Highway 6 southbound for going 84 in a 70 mile per hour zone.
Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer asked the defendant to roll his window down, and the man stated it was “fine where it was.”
The officer detected a strong odor of marijuana, and saw the driver and passenger in the vehicle acting nervously. The driver eventually admitted there was marijuana in the car, in a red cooler, along with a black backpack sitting in the back seat.
Located inside the cooler was a large amount of marijuana. Inside the backpack was a steel cylinder, which contained more marijuana. But, also found inside, was 94 Xanax pills, and another 19 Adderall pills, for which the defendant did not have a prescription.
The man said all the drugs were his, and said the passenger had nothing to do with it. He was arrested, and identified as 33 year old Charles Wilson of Navasota.
In all, there was 10 ounces of marijuana, 21.8 grams of Xanax, and 6.7 grams of Adderall. He was charged with Possession of Marijuana Five Pounds or less but more than Four Ounces, Possession of a Controlled Substance between four grams and four hundred grams, and Possession of a Controlled Substance less than 28 grams.
This is Wilson’s third time in the Brazos County jail since 2013.
