A former Navasota resident, who was arrested as part of a Post Oak Mall theft in 2019, has been arrested again in Brazos County.
According to the arrest report from Bryan Police, when officers responded to a report of damage to a window at a Bryan apartment complex on Rebecca Street. The manager of the complex stated this was an incident that had happened before, but the suspect was nowhere present. Then about five minutes later, apartment management notified police that the suspect had threatened to respond to the office, and assault the staff due to their calling of the police.
Officers went back to the apartment of the original disturbance, and could hear a woman yelling inside. She presented herself, saying she was just mad, but was inside alone and refused to open the door.
The complex noted that the primary resident at the unit, 22 year old Yaheaven Johnson, had moved in one week prior. She told management she was breaking up with her girlfriend, and the manager noted Johnson to have been scared. The manager stated, she believed, Johnson was being held hostage in the apartment.
At that time, officers heard another female voice in the apartment, with the two heard yelling “I a’int going nowhere,” and “get off me.” Officers were prepared to force entry before they both exited.
The suspect refused to speak with officers, while yelling obscenities in front of children.
The woman was arrested, and identified as 21 year old Skylett Deshona Duffie of College Station, formerly of Navasota. She was charged with Disorderly Conduct-Language. The report also says, due to her lying initially about occupants in the apartment, that she hampered their abilities in keeping all parties safe. She was also charged with Interference with Public Duties. It is Duffie’s 10th time in jail since 2018.
She was booked into the Brazos County jail on bonds totaling $2,300.
