The bodies of two people who drown at Lake Conroe last weekend have been recovered.
That is according to the Montgomery County Precinct One and Texas Game Wardens, who began n searching for the two missing people on Friday. A seaplane also joined the investigation.
The report says a young couple was on a rented pontoon boat, with three others, and stopped near Ayers Island. One woman fell overboard, and her boyfriend jumped in to help, when witness said they saw both struggling, and another man jumped in to try and save them.
The couple went underwater and did not surface again.
The other man who jumped in to help the couple was rescued by a passing boat.
The couple was identified as 26 year old Nizigiyimana Peragie and 24 year old Nsengiyumva Adrien, both of Houston.
Adrien’s body was recovered around 9 am Tuesday morning, with Peragie found Tuesday afternoon. Both were found around 50 yards from where they were last seen.
According to investigators, none of the people on the boat knew how to swim.
No further information has been released.
