A murder suspect from Longview was arrested in Huntsville on Tuesday.
According to the Huntsville Police Department, it took negotiators several hours to get 24 year old Dontrey Walker of Longview to surrender. He was found in a wooded area off Old Houston Road.
Walker got into a standoff with Huntsville Police, where he admitted to killing his girlfriend. Longview Police then issued a warrant for his arrest. Authorities eventually negotiated his surrender peacefully, and he was taken into custody.
Longview Police said in a press release that the victim was 22 year old Paige Martin, who had apparent injuries to her neck when found deceased on Tuesday afternoon.
Records indicate that Walker remains in the Walker County Jail on bonds totaling $500,000, and is awaiting extradition to Gregg County.
