A crash on Highway 30 the July 4th Holiday led tot he arrest of a college Station woman on intoxication assault charges.
That incident happened around 7 pm Sunday night, when deputies were called to the two vehicle crash on Highway 30, right at the Brazos and Grimes County line. A white Chevy Impala was blocking the eastbound lane, with an SUV in the ditch.
Officers were advised the woman was impaired, and two witnesses said she veered the Impala into oncoming traffic, east of the Navasota River Bridge.
When officers went to speak with the woman, who was in a civilian vehicle awaiting a paramedics check, she stumbled.
Eventually, a field sobriety test was administered, she was arrested, and identified as 28 year old Sharese Lashon Mitchell of College Station.
According to the report, Mitchell’s two children, ages three and six, were in the car, but not injured. The driver of the SUV, who was not identified, suffered a severe leg injury.
Mitchell was booked into the Brazos County jail on an Intoxicated Assault with a Vehicle charge, and remains in jail on bonds totaling $8,000.
