A third food truck park is coming to the City of Navasota.
Approved at the most recent city council meeting was the Specific Use Permit for what would be dubbed “The Backyard of Navasota,” and would be on West Washington, right off Second Street,, across from the West End Grocery.
Community Development Director Guadalupe Diosdado said most comments they got at a recent Planning and Zoning meeting were positive, with just a few concerns.
“They did share concerns with the condition of the roadway on Second Street, the width, and the fact it is a dead end road. But, aside from that, they were excited that the project is coming forward,” said Diosdado.
The developer of the park, Christopher Komarzec, says the lot has the old Ruthie’s Building, plus a smaller building, which they hope to convert into air conditioned seating for all to enjoy.
“We are going to take the grass area, and try to level it all out, and make it nice. So, when you are in there, it feels like a park environment,” said Komarzec.
The area would have three food trucks, plus around 11 parking spaces.
The specific use permit for the new food truck park was approved by city council.
