After months and months of waiting, construction on Railroad Street in Navasota is finished, and it is finally open to both pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
But, now with it being a one way street, there is some new parking configurations. City Manager Brad Stafford was asked about it during the most recent Grilling Stafford, specifically along the curb near the businesses.
“There’s no marked parking on the east side of that street. Police are patrolling, so do not park along the sidewalk…park where there is designated parking. You know, it is a change, but after talking to all those businesses there, they liked that,” said Stafford.
“So, you park on the west side, walk across the street to the businesses. But, do not park along that street.”
Now, as he does note, there is a specific area for drop offs there, but that is not intended to park vehicles for shopping.
“You can pull up, and drop someone off. There is a little drop-off spot in front of PA Smith Hotel for drop off, or whatever you want to do. But, then you need to go park in a designated parking area,” Stafford said.
Railroad Street is open to pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
