Two staples of the local community are dead after a house fire in Navasota early Friday morning.
As first reported by the Examiner, that fire broke out around 3 am Friday in the 9800 block of Highway 6, behind Busse Wrecker Service.
Both lanes of traffic on the roadway were closed for a few hours, as crews from Navasota Fire, plus Anderson VFD, battled the blaze. The blaze was eventually extinguished around 7 am.
Authorities investigation found two bodies inside the structure, which are presumed to be that of Ronald and Donna Busse, both of Navasota, who lived in the residence. An autopsy will be done to confirm, according to Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell.
