If you live off County Roads 201 and 202 in Plantersville this weekend, you might see some travel delays.
Road and Bridge Engineer Harry Walker gave a quick note at Wednesday’s meeting of commissioner’s Court about the upcoming weekend construction.
“Union Pacific Railroad is going to be closing the railroad crossings at County Roads 201 and 202 this weekend. Friday (22nd) will be one of them, Sunday (24th) will be the other. They are both dead end roads, but a lot of people live beyond those tracks. I am asking the public to give themselves a little extra time,” said Walker. “The railroad will have the ability to stop work, put down steel plates, and let people in and out of the neighborhood during the course of the process. it is going to be probably 8 hours of work, so it is going to be an inconvenience, but it is something they have the need to do.”
Walker reminded citizen’s it is a Union Pacific Railroad project, and not a Grimes County based one.
Work will be complete by the end of the weekend.
