Results from the May elections are official in Grimes County.
The biggest of the ballots locally was the Iola ISD bonds project for $24 million, which failed to pass by 19 votes, falling by a 294-274 margin.
In school board races for Iola ISD as well, Sierra Betancourt wins the position 7 seat after upending Dedra Nevill.
In Anderson Shiro CISD, Marcy Pavlock remains on the board after defeating Keith Zimmerman.
City council seats were also up in the air. In Navasota, Pattie Peterson retains her Place 3 seat with a win over Eustacio Ostigin, and Bernie Gessner defeated Doris Sauls to remain in the Place 1 seat.
In Todd Mission, Tim James remains after defeating Terry Spellman, and up north in Bedias, Walter Rogers wins the race for city council over Randall Richards, Lisa Meritt and Ray Curtis.
