The opening of the new Grimes County Justice Center has been met, overall, with positive reviews. But, as the summer months draw near, some additional fixes and problems are popping up to be rectified.
New county building maintenance manager Rodney Floyd gave an update on their problems at Wednesday’s meeting of Commissioner court.
“There is a lot of issue with the air conditioning and heating…this will be the first time it is cranked up. Lots of maintenance tickets on that…there are some re-circulation issues, that I think will be a problem in the future. So, we are just going to discuss it with PGAL, and the Commissioner’s, to see what we can do,” said Floyd.
He says they are leveled out, and it is cooling normally at 100%. However, that is causing some doors to hang open or close improperly, which they are working to address.
“Once we get the pressurization in the building correct, it will be good to go,” said Floyd. “All the doors will then be readjusted, and start closing correctly again, hopefully in the near future.”
In his update, Floyd said they are looking to take care of all the maintenance issues quickly, while it is all covered by the warranty.
